  1. Asking questions (for science) and defining problems (for engineering)

  2. Developing and using models

  3. Planning and carrying out investigations

  4. Analyzing and interpreting data

  5. Using mathematics and computational thinking

  6. Constructing explanations (for science) and designing solutions (for engineering)

  7. Engaging in argument from evidence

  8. Obtaining, evaluating, and communicating information

Tools to use on desktop: Use STICKY notes to write down homework and reminders.
Use google docs or your website to distribute text and have students mark text in adobe acrobat or preview. Create templates in pages, powerpoint, etc for students to use when completing assignments.

TODAYSMEET.COM: A way to hold a virtual discussion in class. We will use this for today's workshop--keep open in separate tab and post questions, share links and document, etc.

PHET SIMULATIONS:  http://phet.colorado.edu/
Amazing virtual simulations to teach a range of science topics.

YOU TUBE videos to FLIP CLASSROOM: Quick flipped classroom video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2H4RkudFzlc
Create videos (or find ones online) that review class content for students to view at home. You can quickly create videos in photobooth. Khan Academy online also has excellent videos. Look under my CHEMISTRY tab to right for video examples. Click here to see how science teachers in our district are using this:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z81mvrdOyKo&feature=youtu.be Thank you Mrs. Burke and Mrs. Bunt for sharing!!!!

KAHOOT.IT:  Online source to create games, kids get a pin and can play--gives you excel spreadsheet of feedback! Let's play a quick game today!  kahoot.it wait for pin to join game
