Back to School Night SAT 2020 Welcome  

 

 

 

SAT Prep for Language Arts consists of specific instruction in reading, writing, vocabulary, critical thinking and grammar. The instruction is designed to prepare students for the standardized college entrance exam, the Scholastic Aptitude Test. Students will also learn strategies for answering the different types of multiple choice questions. Additionally, if applicable, students will learn how to write an essay analyzing how the author of a persuasive passage supports an argument to persuade an audience.

 

• Students will learn, practice and apply skills and strategies to improve personal SAT scores.

• Students will increase readiness to read, understand, and analyze complex texts across curriculum areas.

• Students will increase understanding of meaning and usage of academic vocabulary words that appear in a variety of content areas.

• Students will improve identification of text evidence to present careful analyses, well-defended claims, and clear information in an essay.

• Students will improve expression of ideas, and to correct errors in sentence structure, usage and punctuation.
