The social studies curriculum is integrated throughout our language arts program. The students will develop an awareness of history through several units of study.  The units of study throughout the year as a follows:

* We the People (a study of the US Constitution, our country's government and the impact it has on students today)

* Power and Progression (Manifest Destiny and the expansion of the United States)

* Folklore and Freedom (slavery and the Underground Railroad)

* The Civil War/ Reconstruction

* The Industrial Revolution

* The fight for Women's Rights

* The Civil Rights Movement
