In keeping with the Washington Township School District’s mission and guided by the American Association of School Librarians, the philosophy of the Benedict A. Cucinella (BAC) School Library is to instill a love of learning through multiple literacies, thus creating a foundation for success in our global world. Fundamentally, reading is a lifelong skill and needed for success in our 21st Century Learners. Instilling this passion for literature and information in the elementary years is the cornerstone for success as our students persevere on their educational journey continuing into adulthood. To succeed in our rapid-paced, global society, learners must develop high-level thinking skills, attitudes, and responsibilities. The focus of the Cucinella Library Program has moved from the confines of a typical library to a dynamic learning space with fluid boundaries layered by diverse needs and influenced by an interactive global community.
