Can I buy my instrument instead of renting it?

Do we have to rent our instruments from the Music Den?

No, you are not obligated to rent from them.  A representative from the Music Den comes to OFRS every week for any problems or repairs that we might have.  The Music Den is the only store that I have not had ANY problems with over all of my time here in Long Valley and have always gotten great instruments from them.   Please be careful if you decide to rent/buy your instrument from someone other than the The Music Den. With instruments, you definitely get what you pay for.  Instruments in poor condition are much harder to play and may result in a frustrating experience for your child.

 

Can I use my mom/dad/brother/sister/uncle/cousin/etc's instrument?

Yes, of course.  But you should get it serviced before starting lessons here in the fall.  I highly recommend The Music Den for this, since they do most of our repairs.

 

What if I can't afford an instrument?

Please contact me if this is an issue ([email protected]) I have some instruments here at OFRS that I can lend out.  I cannot gauruntee that your child will get their first choice in instrument, but I will do my best.

 

Can I play more than one instrument?

Absolutely, but you will need to rent both instruments and come to 2 different lessons. I normally have one or two students do this everyyear. Please email if this is something your child is interested in.
