Our Day

 

The children will have fun learning through a variety of activities and centers.  (small and large groups).  A variety of movement, music and other brain breaks are built individually, in throughout the day to help with energy and focus.  We will use the bathroom across the hall for individual bathroom visits as needed. There will also be natural bathroom breaks built into the schedule to visit the larger restrooms in the building.  Students will be washing their hands before and after snack***, lunch and recess.

 

 

7:35 -7:40 ARRIVAL

 

7:35-7:50 Welcome, unpacking routine, Morning Meeting 

 

7:50-8:50 Math

 

8:50-9:20 Science

                 Whole Class Bathroom Break (subject for modification)

 

9:20-9:50 Social Studies

 

9:50-10:20 RECESS with all other kinder kids

 

  • Daily with a teacher and aides  (unless freezing temperatures rain/snow)

 

  • The playground gets windy in the fall & spring, it is suggested to send sweater/sweatshirt for the unpredictable playground winds. 

 

  • Raincoats are suggested, we will be taking walks on rainy days.  Some may prefer rainboots, as there are puddles on the recess blacktop.

 

  • Students are most comfortable with their mittens/gloves/hats as it gets colder too.

 

 

10:20-10:50 LUNCH in the Cafeteria, with all other kinder kids, seated at our classroom tables

 

10:50-11 Brain Break

11-11:30 ELA Phonics

11:30-12:10 ELA Reading

                     Whole class bathroom break

 

12:15-1:00 SPECIALS See Special Schedule Tab

  • (TBD as individual teacher schedules are administered)
  • GYM Tuesdays wear sneakers
  • Snack will most likely be after specials

 

1:00-1:50 SNACK, ELA Reading and Writing

 

1:50-2:00 Pack Up Routine/Closing Circle

 

 2:10 Dismissal

  • Please make sure to make any necessary changes to pick-up patrol.
  • If possible communicate changes to routine to your child prior to school beginning.

 

Creative play and movement breaks are scattered throughout the schedule as needed.

The best time for a small snack in the classroom after specials, (most likely 1:00), exact time TBD.
