Grading/Projects/Expectations

 

• Students are graded on a point basis.  (Most projects are 16 points each)
• Emphasis is placed on EFFORT!  Students understand that they are to follow directions and show effort in class.  You certainly don't need to be a great artist, you just have to TRY! 
• A 2 point particpation grade is given every day.  (If a student is not particpating positively to class activities then points will be deducted.)
• There will be 4-5 main projects. A variety of painting, drawing, ceramics, collage, printmaking and craft will be explored.  There will also be a drawing journal which students will work on throughout the cycle.
• Curriculum is based around the Elements and Principles of Design. (I call them the "building blocks" of art.)  Students gain an understanding of how they are used to create fine art.
• Overall, I hope students learn, develop in their artistic talents, and have a little fun along the way!
