Day 22: Vietnam in Photos 

Objective: Students will be able to use pictures to understand the experiences and feelings of those involved in the Vietnam War.

Directions for Day 22: Students will be using pictures from the Vietnam War to get an understanding of the soldiers experiences. Students should open the attachment titled "Vietnam in Photos 1".  Students should read the paragraphs to help get an understanding of the pictures. They will then read the directions for the assignment. Students are going to look at pictures from the Vietnam War and answer 2 QUESTIONS for EACH picture. There are a total of 9 pictures, students MUST choose at least 7 to complete. Therefore, you may skip two pictures. Students will find pictures on all 3 attachments above. Answers to the questions do not need to be long, 1-2 sentences is PERFECTLY FINE! Make sure you spend time looking at the details of the photo, they will help you understand more than you think.

Objective: Students will be able to describe the varying experiences that soldiers faced while fighting in the Viernam War.

Directions for Day 23: Students will watch the above videos, " U.S. Veteran Describes Fighting in Vietnam" and "U.S. Veteran's Combat Experiences During Vietnam War". While watching the video, think about their experiences and obstacles they faced while fighting in Vietnam. Take a few notes to help you with the following assignment. After watching both videos, students will write 7-10 sentences describing what they learned about soldier's experiences in the Vietnam war. Think about the following questions to help guide your writing.

Day 25: Vietnam War Notes - Escalation of the War to the Counterculture 

Objective: Students will be able to describe how the war escalated and the response from the citizens at home during the United States.

*Correction for slide 6: Napalm and Agent Orange were both used against militants to break down the trees and vegetation in Vietnam, however, it made many soldiers very ill.

Objective: Students will be able to explain how the Tet Offensive changed the Vietnam war.
