 1. All  students must dress for P.E.  Dress code mandates: Required district PE uniform, socks (white), sneakers (tied).  Outside classes same as above, with addition to sweats being recommended during cooler weather.  Long hair should be held back out of the way for better participation.

 

2. Absolutely no jewelry of any kind, No chewing gum or food.  This is a safety issue.

HATS AND ELECTRONIC ENTERTAINMENT DEVICES ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THIS BUILDING AND THEREFORE ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THIS CLASSROOM EITHER! If discovered, it will be confiscated! Cell phones must be powered off and out of sight!

           Electronic Devices - Minus 3 points for each occurence 

 

3. A combination lock is recommended.  The student is to use these during the class only.  Students are responsible for locking their belongings in their locker.  All students must take their P.E. clothing home, not to keep it in their locker.  The Physical Education Department is not responsible for stolen items.

 

4. Attendance – Student is responsible to contact teacher to make up for any quizzes/assignments missed. Refer to the student handbook for regulations regarding absences. 

         Unprepared - Minus 7 points

         Late – Minus 3 points for each occurrence and P.M. detention

         Cut  Minus 5 points for each occurrence and P.M. detention

         Not in your assigned spot - Minus 3 points for each occurence

 

         Gym Procedure -You have 5 minutes at the beginning of the period to get changed and to be sitting in your assigned spot. Once the class has begun there is no talking. At the end of the class you will have 5 minutes to change and return to the gym. YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO LEAVE THE GYM AREA BEFORE THE BELL.        

 

5. Medical Excuse from Physical Education:                                                                           A doctor’s note must be presented to the teacher and then taken to the school nurse who will issue a special form in duplicate. One copy must be presented to the Athletic Director’s secretary and one copy is given to the physical education teacher. The student will then receive assignments from the teacher.              

 

6. It is the students’ responsibility to be STARS:

       R - RESPECT OTHERS AND EQUIPMENT

7. Grades are based on: 

   (Note: Physical Education = 3 marking periods or ¾ the yearly grade.)           

         A. Preparedness/Warm-ups................................25%             

         B. Quizzes/Tests...............................25% (Includes FINAL EXAM)

         C. Assignments/Participation...............25%

         D. Physical Activities......................................25%

 

 

 

 

To the Parent/Guardian:
Your child has Physical Education 5 days per week.  Please help your child remember his/her gym clothes for the entire week.  Your child needs sweat pants or shorts, sneakers, T-shirt and a lock to lock their school belongings in the Locker Room.  The Physical Education Department is not responsible for items stolen from the Locker Room.  Please encourage your child to lock their belongings in their school locker upstairs.
