Procedures: things you need to do (a routine)  

 

  • Enter the classroom quietly and quickly. 

  • If the classroom door is closed, wait in a line against the lockers outside of class quietly until the teacher opens the door and signals to come in or until the teacher arrives.

  • Leave all jackets, coats, and hats in your locker.

  • Locker schedule - Homeroom, before lunch, before Pd 5, and at dismissal only.

  • No Gum.  This is a School Rule.

  • Bring Binder, ChromeBook, pencil, and homework every day to class.  Come prepared!

  • Sharpen pencils at the beginning of the class.

  • Be seated and ready to start on time.

  • Begin warm up immediately.

  • Use your Yellow Hall pass to leave the classroom.  Must have permission.  

  • When you hear  the teacher’s voice:  “LAKESIDE” YOU SAY “LIGHTNING” 

    - Stop what you are doing. 

    - Turn and face the teacher.

    - Pay attention and be ready for instruction.

  • Use proper heading on all papers (name, date, period #, and assignment). 

  • Place completed assignments in proper Red Bins on the table when instructed.  

  • Check with the teacher for missed work when absent. 

  • Tardy: place excused late pass on the teacher’s desk, sit quietly, and take out materials.  Do not disturb class.  

  • Finish work early:  go back over your work, begin next assignment, and/or practice your math skills and challenge yourself, (see skills activities box or worksheets on bookshelf).  

  • Assembly:  Walk in a line, quickly and silently.  Sit with your class in the assigned area of the auditorium and do not talk once assembly starts.  

  • Drills:  Walk in line, quickly and silently and listen for instructions.  

  • Intercom announcements:  Stop what you are doing and listen for instruction.

  • Phone calls:  lower voices immediately.  

  • Substitute teacher:  follow all rules and procedures as if the teacher is present.  Substitutes will have specific plans and agenda to follow.  

  • Put all materials away when the teacher announces it.

  • Clean up around you and push the chair in.    

  • Remain seated until the teacher dismisses you.
