Dear Parents, 

  

As you are aware,  Pennsylvania Schools will be closed until Monday, March 30, 2020.  We have prepared and sent home a packet, to ensure our students continued learning during this time. If your child was not in school on Friday, their packet was left for them in the main office. 

 

In the packet you will find a copy of the first grade trick words.  Please review these words daily.  It is important for your child to read 20 minutes each day. They have each picked 3 new leveled books to bring home.

 

You will also find math fact fluency worksheets. Our first graders love playing timed math fluency games and writing about their math problems. Anything to make math fun and connect it to the real world will be beneficial for your child.

  

In the packet, there is a phonics practice book for your child to work on and keep at home.  They can do a page or two a day. There are also some short stories in the end of their phonics practice book.  

 

Your child should also go on Lexia for 15-20 minutes daily. If your child has a tablet there is app they can download.  The website is www.lexiacore5.com.  Your child's user-name and password are both the first letter of their first name and their last name (example Kate Smith- user name: ksmith and password- ksmith).
