............some new fitness activities >>>>
1. Run in place for 30 seconds
2. 10 Jumping jacks
3. Run in place for 30 seconds
4. 10 alternate toe touches
5. Run in place for 30 seconds
6. 15 sit ups {place feet under sofa if no partner is available}
7. Run in place for 30 seconds
8. 5 (3-count push ups)
9. Run in place for 30 seconds
10. Do a plank: 2nd grade > 30 secs.
1st grade > 15 secs.
Who knows how to do a BURPEE? When I was young it was called
a ___________________! Anyone know? Answer is below!

Activity Plans
Activities- All grades
1. Jump Rope. If available, students can jump rope to increase heart rate for 3-4 minutes. If
rope is not available, dancing to a fast song for same amount of time can get heart rate up
and is fun. Any other aerobic exercise walking fast, bike ride can include entire family.
2. All grades are working on ball skills. Throwing, catching, rolling, shooting, bouncing are all
acceptable.
Depending on what equipment is available, following skills should be practiced either alone
or with partner or small group.
a. Throwing and catching to self. Use two hands to throw and two hands to catch. Throw
with one hand and catch with two hands. Throw with one hand and catch with one hand.
Alternate hands according to ability. Overhand throw a ball against a wall outside or with
a partner. Step with the opposite foot.
b. Rolling with two hands. Practice rolling with two hands to a partner or against a wall outside.
c. Rolling with one hand. Roll with one hand while stepping with the opposite foot. Roll
with a partner.
Roll and try to knock down an empty plastic bottle or similar items.
d. Shooting. Shooting baskets. Shooting smaller ball into empty trashcan. Challenge self
by increasing distance.
e. Bouncing. Use two hands to bounce a ball while standing in place. Alternate hands while
standing in place.
Dribble a ball with one hand while moving. Alternate hands to practice. Use fingertips,
keep fingers spread apart

Week 3{3/30/20}
1- Continue to identify which groups different foods belong in
2- Keep track of what you are eating everyday for breakfast,
lunch & dinner. Don't forget to write down your snacks also,
good or not so good.
3- Practice building healthy meals that include at least 4 of the
food groups, but hopefully all 5!
4- Take a look at the NUTRITIONAL FACTS label that is on
every food or drink sold. What does some of that information
mean? What is good? What should you stay away from?

POISON ~ Any substance that is harmful(hurt you) or destructive(can kill you).
Most products are used for one purpose, if used in any other way, it's a poison!
1 - Watch POISON video
2 - With an adult, identify 5 places where poisons can be found in & around
the home. If you find more, GREAT!
3 - With an adult, identify 15 items that are considered poisons & what they
are actually used for in order to be safe!

1 - Review POISON definition above
2 - Review places where poisons can be found around the
house
3 - Review items that are considered poisons if used in the
wrong way
4- Watch POISON Symbol #1 video. Draw your best
poison symbol #1
5 - Another poison symbol from years ago is Mr. Yuk.
Search for a picture of Mr. Yuk. Draw a picture of
Mr. Yuk next to poison symbol #1
6 - Continue to follow safety rules in and around the house
*Week 10 {5/25/20}
1- Watch video on Lyme Disease
2- Practice good safety rules in any woody area
3- Make sure you to a "tick check" when returning from the woods
4- Any ticks found, have a parent remove and treat area with an antiseptic
5- A couple of minutes of work can prevent a entire summer of feeling yucky!!
*Week 11 {6/1/20}
1- Think about the many things you may do over the summer or do more often over the summer then during the school year. Write them down on a piece of paper.
2- Try to come up with 4-5 safety rules for each activity you may do. Write them down.
3- Discuss with an adult each activity and see if there may be any safety rules you may have missed that would help you stay safer. Add them to the list!
