Suggestions for reading and writing:

 

Always remember it's about the process not the product at first. Be patient and you will see magic happen right before your eyes.
Read, Read, Read! Reading is one of the BEST gifts that you can give your child. Create a routine where you read to them each night. Talk about the importance of reading! Create memories your child will never forget. It's so easy to get lost in a good book!
Create a writing station in your home. All you need is paper, pencils, and a great imagination! Giving your child a "space" to create may be all they need to blast off into their own galaxy of ideas!
Ask your child to help you with the grocery list! They can write it as you list it! Pictures are welcome too.
Write a letter to a family member or friend! Who doesn't like to get mail? I know I LOVE it! Ask your child what they would like to know about a family member or friend. Have them share new and exciting information! Just imagine how exciting it will be when they get their letter returned!
