Accounting

Prerequisite:  Algebra I

 

This course takes you through the steps of the accounting cycle for both a service and merchandising business. You will learn how to analyze and record business transactions in various journals and to prepare and interpret financial statements for single proprietorships, partnerships and corporations.  You will become familiar with the language of business and be introduced to career opportunities in accounting.  Computers will be used extensively throughout the year.

• How do personal interests and skills, values and lifestyle goals affect personal career choices?

• How does the Economy affect your life decisions?

• What can you do to make sure the career you choose is personally satisfying and fulfilling?

 

 

Course Requirements and Major Assignments:

 

• Must maintain an overall grade of 65%

• Must adhere to the attendance regulation of less than 16 days absent.
