Hi!  My name is Melissa Minella.
I am delighted to teach your child this year and I am looking forward to an exciting year!

I graduated with a Bachelor's degree from LSU!!  This is the beginning of my 12th year teaching.  My first year teaching I taught Pre-K and since then I have taught Kindergarten.  I am a National Board Certified Teacher and I recieved my Master's degree in Special Education (Early Intervention) from Southeastern Lousiana University in May.  I have also completed coursework towards my reading specialist certification.  Three years ago my colleagues named me Teacher of The Year at Doyle Elementary.  It was an incredible honor! 

Some of my favorite things to do are spending time with family and friends, swimming, working in my garden, playing with my dog, and traveling (especially to the beach)!  One more thing is for sure: I am a HUGE LSU and SAINTS fan!!!

I believe this is one of the most important and informative years in your child's education.  I also believe that building a strong PARTNERSHIP with parents is vital to laying a firm foundation for continued success.
