Arrival:

School begins at 8:40 a.m. Students will be let in the school starting at 8:10 a.m., in order to have enough time to eat breakfast, car riders/walkers should arrive by 8:30 a.m.

 

Transportation:

All transportation changes must be in writing!  We cannot take your child’s word!  Notes can be sent in the morning of the change.  In case of an emergency, call the office to notify us of a change.

 

Classroom Rules:

Please read and review the Discipline Plan with your child.  It is important that your child realize that inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. 

 

Conduct:

Good behavior is expected and important to ensure a productive learning environment. You will be notified if I have any significant issues with your child. 

 

Class Dojo:

I will use Class Dojo as a form of communication this year (not for behavior purposes).  Please be sure to sign up so that you can keep up with what is going on in our classroom!

 

Homework:

Homework is assigned Monday- Thursday.  Students will receive a weekly homework packet.  Each child will also receive a PURPLE FOLDER. This folder will contain: a weekly homework packet, extra worksheets (sometimes), parent/teacher notices, and office memos. 

 

Uniform/Jackets:

Please carefully read the uniform policy located in the student handbook.  Only solid purple, black, green, gray, or white jackets and/or sweatshirts are allowed to be worn.  Our classroom tends to be cold; please keep a sweatshirt/jacket in your child’s school bag. NO HOODIES!!!

 

Birthday Celebrations:

If you would like to send cupcakes or a snack for your child’s birthday, please just let me know. You can send it to school in the morning or drop it off during the day before 1:00. 

 

Snacks:

Students are allowed to bring a HEALTHY snack to school each day to enjoy at recess. Canned /carbonated drinks and candy are not allowed.   

 

Absences:

If your child is absent, he/she must make up any assignments and/or tests missed.  To receive your child’s assignments, please call the office between 9:00 A.M. and 10:00 A.M. and tell the secretary your child will be absent.  You may pick up the assignments after 1:30 P.M. in the office.

 

District Handbook:

Please read our District Handbook to become familiar with school rules, attendance, and behavior policies.  Please sign and date the parent signature forms in the back of each handbook and return ONLY the signature pages.

 

Contact Info for School:

Please complete the emergency card; front and back (this is for the office), a nurse form, and the classroom information sheet. While the information is repetitive, it is important for the office, nurse, and myself to have current contact information in case of an emergency.
