Dear Second Graders,

Welcome to our class!  I hope you are having a wonderful summer vacation. Mrs. Martinez and Mrs. Hoffman are your teachers. 

 

Just a few things about Mrs. Martinez: I am so excited to finally meet you. This will be my 30th year of teaching.   I have taught second and third grade. I have included some of my favorites. My favorite color is blue. My favorite baseball team is the Yankees. My favorite movie is The Wizard of Oz. My favorite ice cream flavor is Rocky Road. I have a dog named Coco. I have two younger brothers, 1 niece, and three nephews. I love to bake and cook.  I love shopping at the Loft, Amazon, Michaels, Target, and DSW. I love Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks coffee. My husband and I love to travel and go to the movies. We enjoy spending time with friends and family. I am terrified of spiders and insects. I love teaching and I am super excited to have you in my class this year!

 

Hi! I am Mrs. Hoffman and this is my 18th year at Milltown School! I have spent most my time in 4th grade, but have also taught 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade. My daughter, Avery, is 10 years old and my son, Ryan, is 8! My favorite color is blue and my favorite season is summer.  I like cheeseburgers, chocolate covered prestzels and coffee.  I have a dog.  I like to go to the beach, walking, playing and watching sports and reading.  I am excited to be your teacher this year. 

 

 

Please bring in headphones in a plastic bag labeled with your name.  You will use these during Daily 5. Don't forget a lunchbox and a reusable water bottle. Please label it with your name as well. These items will be returned to you at the end of the school year.  

It is recommended that you do not purchase a rolling backpack.  Unfortunately, rolling backpacks do not fit into the cubbies and because of limited space in the classroom, there is no place to store them within the room.  Note that the weight of the backpack is something seriously considered when sending home schoolwork.  

 

 

Our first day of school is September 2nd.  Please remember to bring in a snack, your lunch, and a drink. Remember to bring the school supplies you purchased. 

 

Bring in a picture of something you did over summer break. We will share the pictures during our first Morning Meeting.
