Welcome to Second Grade! My name is Maria Sandborg and I am blessed to be working with your child as an English as a Second Language (ESL) specialist in Mrs. Landz and Mrs. Connett's classes this year. I began my teaching career 27 years ago and have worked in the Bridgewater-Raritan School District for 24 years at both Hillside Intermediate School and JFK Primary School.
My first language was Italian, and through my love of culture and languages I came to study and teach Spanish, as well. Being an ESL Teacher has been a dream come true as I am able to travel around the world through the many amazing students! Your child should have a Two-Pocket Homework Folder and Water Bottle for school each day. Please check your child's folder each night for homework and notes. REMEMBER to read and complete assignments each night. If you have not already sent headphones to school, please do so as soon as possible.
