August 2025

Dear Students,

I’m eager to announce that I will be your 5th grade Math, Science, and Social Studies teacher.

This year you are going to learn so many new things while in the company of many old and new faces.  Old friendships will continue to grow and new ones will blossom in no time!

Over the course of the first few days at school, we will take time to get to know each other better.  In addition, I will teach you the routines you will follow in my classroom and around our school so you feel confident each day you arrive.  Together with your hard work, the guidance of your teachers, and the support from your family will result in a fantastic school year!

Dr. Bassett shared a supply list: Grade Level Supply Lists - Eisenhower 25-26.pdf

Below are some additional supplies you may wish to get.  Most of these items I have available in our classroom, but you may wish to purchase some of your own.  My three children were excited to take a ride to Staples a few days ago to get their hands on new school supplies.  I have to admit I was equally as excited to pick up a few new things for 615.

Please check your other teachers’ websites.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN GETTING A JUMP ON THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR, TAKE TIME TO REVIEW YOUR SCHEDULE FOR 5 MINUTES A DAY ONCE IT BECOMES AVAILABLE.  LOOK FOR ANY PATTERNS THAT REPEAT.  DECIDE WITH YOUR FAMILY WHERE YOU WILL CHARGE YOUR CHROMEBOOK EACH DAY WHEN YOU COME HOME FROM SCHOOL IN PREPARATION FOR THE NEXT DAY OF SCHOOL.  CHROMEBOOKS SHOULD NOT CHARGE IN BEDROOMS.

Continue to make summer memories with your loved ones.

Warmly,

Mrs. Hurley
