RULES AND PROCEDURES

 

* be in your seat when the bell rings - detentions will be given to students arriving late (without a pass)

 

* be respectful of others

 

- no talking during lectures or individual class work

- when in groups, limit conversations to the subject of math

- no name calling or foul language

 

* during lesson, no cell phones or earbuds should be visible. 

 

* no food, drinks or gum permitted - water is allowed

 

* be compliant with policies regarding uniforms and IDs

 

* upon returning to school after an absence, students are responsible for requesting missed work and making it up in a timely fashion to receive full credit (GOOGLE CLASSROOM)

 

 

WHAT TO BRING (Algebra 2)

 

* pencil – quizzes done in pen will result in grade being lowered by 10%

 

* notebook - should contain notes and homework that pertain to math only

 

* scientific calculator - a cell phone calculator is not permitted at any time

- may not be shared during quizzes or tests

 

* completed assignments - homework will be graded each day

 

* chromebook - remember to charge it nightly!

 

* textbook will be online

 

GRADING (Algebra 2)

 

Each marking period grade is calculated as follows:

 

Tests/Quizzes                  70%      

Homework                       20%

Participation                    10%

 

EXTRA HELP:  I am available 4th and 5th periods.  Please make an appointment.

 

 

WHAT TO BRING (SAT Prep)

 

* chromebook – remember to charge it nightly!

 

* scientific calculator – you may use one that I provide or whatever you plan to use on the SAT

(the testing site does not provide calculators)

 

* textbook – a SAT practice book will be given to you and is yours to keep.

 

* paper/pencil – in order to work through the Khan Academy practice problems

 

* other math work – I would like to use class time to work on other math assignments

especially if you are preparing for a test or are struggling

 

GRADING (SAT Prep)

 

Each marking period grade is calculated as follows:

 

Classwork                         65%      

Quizzes                              25%

Participation                    10%
