Meet Your Teacher!
Hello, my name is Mrs. Schroeder and I will be your child's 5th grade teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This is my 19th year teaching in West New York at P.S. Number #1. Previous to my coming to West New York I spent 2 years teaching in a private school in Jersey City. I graduated from Saint Peter's College with a BA in Humanities and a Master's Degree in Education with a certificate specializing in grades K-8.
I believe the most important thing I can do as a teacher is to create a classroom environment in which students feel safe and comfortable. From the minute they walk in the door on the first day of school to the time they leave at the end of the year, I want each of my students to know that they are a valuable member of my classroom. Along with this, it is important for students to get to know each other and to work together as a team. My hope is that your child will come to school excited to learn, that they will see each day as an adventure in learning.
