Course Descriptions

FACS I - This is a whole year introductory course to Family and Consumer Sciences.  One semester instructs students in basic sewing skills, giving them the opportunity to explore sewing as a hobby.  The other semester focuses on food-related topics, including nutrition, meanl planning and management, food safety and food preparation techniques.


FACS II -  This is the second part of FACS I.  


Adult Responsibility/Parenting - This course is designed to help students successfully manage the many aspects of their lives in today's complex society: finances, relationships, health and safety, consumer skills, family, managing work and money resources, managing time and material resources, and good communication skills.  This course incorporates real-life situations and important issues to help students make informed chioices now and in their future.
