I am not a native to West New York; I am not even a native of New Jersey. I was born and raised in upstate New York, about three hours northwest of West New York. I moved to this area to live and teach near New York City. I currently live in Bayonne, which means I have a little bit of a commute each day, but I enjoy it because sitting on the train gives me time to read! I am married, and my wife owns her own business. Our quirkly family includes our son, Wesley, who was born in 2013, and his little brother Tyquan, who was born in 2019 and who we adopted in 2022. We have dog named Daisy-- she is an American Foxhound who loves to run and smell stuff-- a gray tabby cat named Dash, and an orange tabby named Chase. They're from animal shelters.
I am also a writer. I have an author webpage at www.adamknightbooks.com. My first novel, titled At The Trough, was published in May of 2019 and is available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and other booksellers. I have also had several short stories published in online magazines and anthologies. Teaching writing helps my writing and vice versa. The only true way to know if we understand something is to try and teach it. As a reader, I try to read everything I can. I hold a B.A. from SUNY Purchase in Literature and an M.A. from Binghamton University in English/Creative Writing.
My other interests include running, baseball, movies, music, studying history and mythology, and travel. My different interests and experiences serve me as a teacher in West New York.
If you are interested in reading one of my published stories, this one took 2nd place in "On The Premises'" short fiction contest. Feel welcome to read it (and it's free!):
