SCIENCE FAIR
ALL 6TH AND 8TH GRADE STUDENTS are required to submit a project for the Science Fair. This assignment will determine your grade point average for the 2ND SEMESTER of school.
PLEASE READ VERY CAREFULLY....
When available, time will be given in class to work on the project but this is an "AT HOME" project. You may not be given any time at school so DO NOT EXPECT IT.... You WILL NOT be able to conduct any experiments or film the video at school!!!
NO GROUP PROJECTS
You will receive 6 grades for this assignment: Question/Hypothesis, Research/Experiment, Conclusion (10 pts each), Report (20 pts), and an Overall finished project grade worth 100 points (Overall scores will be given using the judging rubric. Note: you may receive an A for all parts of the project but the grade from the judges. I give credit for participation whereas they do not... Their score determines placement in the fair)
**BANNED PROJECTS**
If you choose to do a "banned" project, you will receive a failing grade on all components of the project...
- NO previous projects (must be new information)
- NO slime
- NO food electricity
- NO demonstrations (volcano, tornado, clouds, etc.) Project MUST be testable
- NO density layers
- NO Gummy Bear Osmosis
- NO Popcorn/bubbles/candles on which is the best projects
- NO project on the "What Color Do You See Dress"
Requirements:
1. Tri-Fold display board with all components of the project (Question, hypothesis, Materials, Procedures, Research, Data, Conclusion)
2. Written Report/Abstract (DO NOT Put the Abstract on the board)
DO NOT wait until the last minute.....
