Line: A mark drawn with a pointed, moving tool. There are 5 types of line; vertical, horizontal, diagonal, curved and zig zag.

 

Shape: A two-dimensional area that is defined in some way. A shape has only height and width.

 

Form: Objects having three dimensions. Like a shape, a form has height and width, but also has depth. Geometric/ Free form ( organic )

 

Space: Is the area around, between, above, below, or within objects. Shapes and forms are defined by the space around and within them.

 

Color: An element of art that is derived from reflected light. (Warm/ cool, primary, secondary, intermediate, hue, value, intensity, Etc.).

 

 

Value: the art element that describes the darkness or lightness of an object.

 

Texture: The element of art that refers to how things feel, or look as if they might feel if touched.
