Atttendance Policy

The Board od Education neither condones nor permits absences from school for any reason not specified in the law, and course credit may not be issued if the student attendance requirement is not met.  The Board of Education, in order to encourage good attendance, has set an absentee policy that permits only 15 days absent from school or class for a full year course and 8 days absent from school or class for a semester course.  When a student is absent for medical reasons, a doctor's note must be submitted to the school nurse within 10 days of return to school so that proper documentation is kept and recorded in a timely fashion.

Escused Absences
The following are reasons for necessary absences and are excluded in the 15 maximum:

1.  Professional note (i.e. doctor, dentist, lawyer, etc...)

5.  NJ state drivers' road test (written form showing time and date of test must be submitted in advance to the assistant principal)
6.  Dated letter from a college verifying a visitation
