My name is Amanda Armstrong and I have been a SPED teacher for 16 years at PHS. Born and raised in Slidell, but currently reside in Ponchatoula with my husband Brandon and son Andre. We have a precious pug named Coal. I love spending time with my family and friends when I am not working.

Teaching SPED is truly a passion for me. Growing up in the same household with my cousin James, whom was born with many of the same disabilities like my students is where my story began. I graduated from SLU with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. I was offered a SPED teacher position and I accepted it. It did not take me long to realized that teaching students with disabilities was my true passion so I earned my Add-On Certification in Special Education. During my 5th year of teaching, James passed away shortly after his 20th birthday, but his memory is what fires my passion to this day.
