***Our last day of school is Friday, June 26th.  It is a 12:40 dismissal day.  School will reopen on Wednesday, September 2nd.  Enjoy your summer.
WCS Field Day is Monday, June 1st ( Rain date Tuesday, June 2nd) Children MUST wear their feild day tee shirts, sneakers, sunblock, and if possible a hat. 
***12:40 dismissal days start Wednesday, June 10th and will run through to the end of school, Friday, June 26th Please pick. your child up on time on these 12:40 dismissal days.  Thank you!!
***School is closed for Juneteenth, Friday, June 19th.  Enjoy the long weekend!
****Lunch will be served on the half days from June 10th - June 18th (except for 8th grade Graduation day, June 16th and Kindergarten Celebration Day, June 18th).
Our Kindergarten celebration will take place in our classroom on Thursday June 18th from 11:45 to 12:10.  It will run approximatly 20 minutes.  We can only invite a TOTAL of 2 people for each student. Due to state Fire Code regulations we are legally bound to a limited room capacity. Photo ops will be available immediately following our celebration in the school yard.  I have sent home a letter and early dismissal permission slip to you.  PLEASE sign all and return to be ASAP. Thank you all for your cooperation.
Miss Denise will be having and ice cream sundae day in our room on. Monday, June 22nd.  Information to follow.

Literacy and Language:

I can understand that words are read from left to right and top to bottom.

I can recognize some uppercase and lowercase letters in addition to those in my first name.

I can read my own first and last name.

I can speak in complete sentences.


Writing and Fine Motor:

I can hold my crayon and pencil with a tripod grasp.

I can write my first name properly (Capital letter followed by lowercase letters)

I can draw recognizable pictures (person with most body parts)

I can properly hold and use scissors.


Numeracy and Math:

I can count to 20.

I can recognize numbers 0 -10.

I can recognize basic shapes and colors.


Social and Emotional Development:

I can share and take turns with peers during play.

I can separate from my parents without being upset.

I can follow two-step directions.

I can sit and listen to a story.

I can handle transitions from one activity to another smoothly.

I can manage impulses, wait for my turn, and handle disappointment.

I can ask for help when I need it.


Personal Independence;

I can use the bathroom independently (wipe, flush toilet, wash hands, and zip up my own pants)

I can dress myself. (putting on my own jacket and zip it up/ button it up)

I can open items in my lunchbox or on my lunch tray.(able to peel an orange/banana or please send in peeled in a ziplock bag)

I can tell you my full name.

I can tell you how old I am.

I can tell you when my birthday is.

I can tell you my mother's and my father’s names.

*Bonus - I can tell you my address and phone number.

                          

 

********Please have your child in school AND IN SCHOOL UNIFORM by 8:40 daily.
Please pick your child up in the back school yard - door 7, between 2:40 -2:45.  Thank you
 
********We will have snack daily.  Please send your child to school with a healthy snack each day. Small bottle water is permitted but only water.  Please keep in mind we have a brand new start of the art water fountain in our hallway.
**********PLEASE CHECK YOUR CHILD'S TAKE HOME FOLDER NIGHTLY.  PLEASE SIGN AND RETURN ALL FORMS PROMPTLY.  THANK YOU!
During the regular school year.......
 
* Starting in October homework will be given out on Mondays and will be collected on Fridays of each week.
**All printing and math homework needs to be completed in pencil unless otherwise directed.

 ****** THE Kindergarten IS DISMISSED DAILY FROM DOOR 7 at 2:45 on a normal full day of school.     

 

 

 

 

School Spirit Days are every Monday through out the school year.  THESE ARE NOT DRESS DOWN DAYS!!!  Students are encouraged to wear school spirit apparel or simply our school 

colors: redwhite, and  blue.  Of course, school 

uniforms are still acceptable on these days as well.  

School Spirit wear goes on sale at the start of the new school year.
