Class Participation, Classwork and Homework: It is important to be active in your education. Participation in class is essential. Don’t worry about making mistakes. We all do, including me; as you will see. I don’t mind questions. I would rather explain things again right away than wait until test day when things are far worse.
Notes and study aids are available on google classroom.
It is your responsibility to get any material that may have been missed due to absence.
Tests and Quizzes: Tests or quizzes are graded by the number correct out of the total possible points. Material is sectioned so that similar problems are kept together, and generally go from easier to more difficult material.
Grades: 20% Formative Assessment (CW/HW/Activities): Assignments will be graded by completion
80% Summative Assessment (Quiz/Test/Project): CP - Study Guides can be used on Tests only.
Honors - No notes or guides.
**Marking periods 2 and 4: Summative percentages will change to 60% Test/Quiz/Project and 20% Midterm or Final Exam.**
Reassessments: Any failing quiz/test can be reassessed for a passing grade (65), after school.
Extra Help and Make Up Work: You are responsible for seeking help and making up missed tests or quizzes. You can see me Monday, Wednesday, Thursday until 2:20. Just make sure that I know you are coming. If you need to say longer, just talk to me about making other arrangements.
When absent: Assignments are to be turned in the next day. Tests or quizzes must be made up by the next week. Any assessment not completed in that time will remain a zero.
