A little about myself...
This is my 22nd year teaching at Pinelands. My greatest joy is working with the students and getting to know them. In class, my goal is to create a community that allows students to feel comfortable to make mistakes (mathmatically & personally) and learn from those mistakes. I am here to assist in any way I can. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns throughout the year.
Course Description
In Integrated Math I, you will further develop mathematical skills and make sense of how they can be utilized in solving real-world problems, emphasizing the connections between Algebra and Geometry. This course will not only deepen your understanding and knowledge of Algebra and Geometry, but it will develop its application to a wide range of topics and real-world uses. Building on the understanding of different types of functions and graphs in Algebra and the reasoning utilized in proof and problem solving in Geometry, this course will extend these concepts to build a foundation for success in college and 21st century careers, in addition to various types of college readiness assessments
Course Expectations
Students will show mastery of identified Algebra and Geometry NJSLS by the end of the school year. Students will show mastery of standards through formative assessments given throughout the course. They will solve different types of functions algebraically and graphically using different strategies, demonstrate improved logic and problem solving skills, perform statistical analysis, apply set theory to given contexts, and calculate probability of and apply statistics to real world scenarios. They will complete a number of benchmark assessments periodically throughout the school year to measure their level of understanding and mastery to achieve proficiency on standardized assessments.

This course is designed for 11th grade students who need to develop a stronger understanding of algebraic and geometric thinking so they can succeed in everyday math. In addition to introducing new concepts, this third year of mathematics elaborates on the previously learned concepts and skills of Algebra and Geometry and prepares students for college and 21st century careers. Students will apply these concepts and skills to solve real-world problems. Technology will play a major role in developing student understanding through applications of this knowledge. This course covers a range of topics, such as set theory, logic, data analysis, probability, and statistics. This course is not recognized by the NCAA, so student-athletes wishing to attend a four year college with athletic scholarships should take Algebra1, Geometry, and Algebra 2.

This course is designed for 12th grade students that did not pass the New Jersey Graduation Proficiency Assessment (NJGPA) in 11th grade. It will help those students who need to develop a stronger understanding of the algebraic and geometric concepts that are seen on required graduation assessments including, but not limited to, the NJGPA, PSAT, SAT, Graduation Portfolio, etc.

These students will develop a stronger understanding of algebraic and geometric thinking so they can succeed in everyday math. In addition to introducing new concepts, an additional year of mathematics elaborates on the previously learned concepts and skills of Algebra and Geometry and prepares students for college and 21st century careers. Students will apply these concepts and skills to solve real-world problems. Technology will play a major role in developing student understanding through applications of this knowledge. This course covers a range of topics, such as set theory, logic, data analysis, probability, and statistics.
Grading Policy
Grades will be calculated using a weighted system. Summative Assessments will account for 80% of the marking period grade.The remaining 20% will be calculated by using Formative Assessments.

- 20% Classwork/Homework
Classwork/homework grades are based on completion with work shown.
Students may retake any TEST or Quiz
Extra Help
Extra Help is available from 1:45-2:20 as needed
