Certified First Responder Course
Course Description:
This curriculum includes the skills necessary for the individual to provide to provide emergerncy medical care with a limited amount of equipment. It provides hands-on discovery. Students will be encouraged to peer tutor and work together in groups to better understand new concepts and skills.
Course Objectives:
-Describe the roles of EMS in the health care system
-Apply principles of emergency medical services operations, considerations, multiple-casualty incidents, extricating patients, and responding to situations involving weapons of mass destruction.
-Identify the need for and perform immediately life-saving interventions to manage a patient's airway, breathing, and circulation.
Course Goals:
CPR Certified
Pass state certification test (70%)
Pass skills practical
Assessment:
Quizzes and test weekly
Perform all skills (life-threatening and non life-threatening skills)
Pass Criminal Background Check
