Dear Tigers,
I hope this letter finds you well and safe. I pray you all had a great spring break and was able to spend time with your love ones. I would like to thank you for being patient and working with us. We have been diligently working to provide your children with learning opportunities.
The stay at home order for our students has been extended for the duration of the school year. As a result, our students will not receive classroom instruction until next school year. It is imperative that we provide them with learning opportunities that will assist them in maintaining their academic progress for this year. We will do this by providing our students with virtual lessons for the remainder of the school year. Virtual lessons will occur once a week via Microsoft Teams, Class DoJo, or ZOOM. I know for most of us utilizing technology for instructional practices is out of our comfort zone, but for now, it is the best avenue to communicate and instruct our students. For those who do not have access to technology, we will provide packets.
Please review the schedule for our virtual learning opportunities. During virtual learning opportunities, students will be provided with 30 minutes of instruction and an additional 30 minutes academic support. During academic support, students or parents will be allowed to ask questions relevant to instruction. Access to the virtual lesson will be placed on individual teachers’ websites and on our school’s website.
In order to assess your needs, please take some time and fill out the technology survey located on our website. This information will assist us when we are making decisions that impact students’ academic progress. Here is the link: https://les.stjohn.k12.la.us/apps/form/form.STJTBPPS-LAE.rVGdLab.2i4.
