Behavior Contract

 

I understand that I have nobody else to blame for my behavior but myself. I will take responsibility for my actions without blaming others or using distraction to avoid being held accountable. I will accept my consequences and learn from my mistakes.

Follow School Rules

  • I will follow the rules of school (or wherever else I may be) and I will do what is expected of me each day. I will avoid non-compliant behaviors such as arguing, begging, complaining, or whining.

Be Respectful

  •  I will use proper manners and speak appropriately to others. I will respect the property, privacy, and feelings of others by refraining from: name calling, blaming others, physical fights/threats, denial, throwing objects, keeping hands, feet, objects, and bodily fluids to myself.

Be Safe

  • I will keep myself and others safe by avoiding behaviors that are aggressive, destructive, or dangerous. I will avoid places and objects that are unsafe or dangerous. I will not give into peer pressure.

Be Responsible

• I will act responsibly by doing the things that are expected of me in an orderly and timely manner. I will do things to the best of my ability and will not make excuses for incomplete school work or behavior.

• I will be patient and show manners to others.

• I will have a positive attitude instead of being negative or rude

 

I will maintain the following rewards only if I am able to meet the expectations listed in this agreement.

Instant reward

  • I will earn verbal praise (specifically toward positive behavior), positive contact with parent.
  • I will earn points on my Behavior Tracking sheet daily and weekly towards a reward of my choice from below.
  •  I must earn ten points to receive daily rewards.

 

Ten Point Reward-

  1. Computer time,
  2. Lunch with a friend,
  3.  Lunch with a teacher,
  4. Bring a snack to class,
  5. Classroom helper or teacher’s helper.

I will earn the following consequence(s) only if I am unable to meet the expectations listed in this agreement.

  1. Verbal warning,
  2. Statement describing what behavior is expected,
  3.  Minor infraction with loss of behavior points, and
  4.  Phone call to parent,
  5. Office referral on major write-up.

This ladder must be strictly followed by teacher(s) and by ISSP staff if necessary.
