Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year.
My name is Mrs. Watkins. I am your child's math and science teacher this year. This is my eighth year at John L. Ory, my twenty-sixth year in the parish and my twenty-seventh year teaching. I earned both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Southeastern Louisiana University. The majority of my career has been teaching third grade.

Attendance: According to our Pupil Progression Plan, students may miss no more than 10 days to be eligible for promotion.
Please send a Dojo message letting us know if your child will be absent.
Grades: Students will be graded on various assessments during the marking period. These are classified as formative (40%) or summative (60%).
Yellow Graded Paper Folders:
Graded paper folders are sent home on Wednesdays. They must be returned signed by Friday. Not returning it by Friday will result in the loss of a “Prepared” CAM Point. Please take the time to go over the papers with your child. If there is a question about a grade, please message us so we can check over the grade in question when the folder is returned.
Homework: While homework is not graded, students should complete homework assigned to strengthen skills learned during the instructional day. Incomplete homework will result in the loss of a CAM point and student having to complete it during recess at Fix and Finish.
