The Last 2nd Grade News Week of May 5-16, 2023
*** The last day of school is Friday, May 23rd. It is a half day dismissal at 11:30am***
- This will be the last news for the year! Any important info after will be sent on the REMIND app.
- There will be no written homework pages attached to the News. This will be the last set of spelling and vocabulary words. The vocabulary words will be tested this Friday, however, the spelling words will be broken up into two weeks with half the words being tested this Friday and half of the words being tested on Wednesday, May 14th.
- We will start our diagnostic test on Monday of this week with iReady Reading being tested on Monday and Tuesday; iReady Math will be tested on Thursday and Friday. Next week we will begin reviewing skills to get ready for 3rd grade.
- Our field trip is this Wednesday, May 7th. A note was sent home with the information about departure and arrival times. Please put your child in his/her green field trip shirt. Due to weather concerns, we will be passing along information if there are last minute changes, etc.
- If you haven’t turned in the Soup Recipe, IT MUST be turned in tomorrow morning, Tuesday, May 6th to be included in the Recipe Cookbook.
- Friday, May 16th is our PBIS Celebration. Those who earned this privilege will get to attend. If your child is unable to attend because he/she did not adhere to the contract, I will send a note home on Thursday afternoon.
- On Thursday, May 15th, we will have our 2nd grade End of the Year celebration from 9-11am. We will have fun activities and snacks at this time. Parents are invited to join us. You may want to consider bringing a blanket to sit on to enjoy a snack/free time with your child.
- Next week will be a cleaning and organizing week. Your child will begin to transport some of their desk items home the week of May 12th through the end of school.
