I grew up in the nearby area of Pumpkin Center and graduated from Ponchatoula High School...a long time ago...in 1998. I currently live in Albany with my family.
I am married to a native of Albany, David Woods. My husband and I have two children: our daughter Camryn and our son Peyton. We love being a part of their lives and watching them become independent adults. We enjoy spending time together playing games like Phase 10, Jokers and Pegs, Nines, etc. We also spend a lot of time at the baseball field watching Peyton do what he loves. He is fortunate enough to be livng out his dream of playing college baseball at SLU. Lion Up!
I come from a long line of teachers. My mother Scarlette Brunies retired from Albany Lower after teaching 2nd grade for many years. Two of my aunts have been teachers, and my grandpa was a pastor - which is in the field of teaching.
I truly do love being a teacher. I love being part of the process of kids growing, learning, and becoming the people they want to be. I will always do my absolute best to keep a positive attitude and treat each student on campus in the same way I want others to treat my own children. I feel that keeps me grounded and compassionate.
