At Home Learning Lesson Plan
Monday and Tuesday
- Flash letter cards, having your child identify the letter name and sound
- Flash number cards, having your child identify each number
- Choose a word and see how many rhyming words you can create
- Practice counting various objects. Use your pointer finger and touch each item as you slowly count
- Talk about different parts of a book (author, illustrator, front/back of book, spine).
- Have an adult read a book to you. See how many details you can remember from the story.
- Practice touching words from left to right in a book
- Choose a letter and find objects that start with the same sound
- Count cereal or snack. See if you can put it in groups. How many groups did you make?
- Draw a picture of your family. Discuss what makes your family special.

Wednesday and Thursday
- Flash letter cards, having your child identify the letter name and sound
- Flash number cards, having your child identify each number
- Orally count to 20
- Practice counting various objects. Use your pointer finger and touch each item as you slowly count
- Practice the words under, over, behind, above, beside with a chair.
- Determine whether words start with the same sound. Put thumbs up for yes, and thumbs down for no
- Write your name and spell it for an adult
- Look through some photos. Talk about what you see.
- Try to sound out the word "cat" with adult help. Continue with other -at words (rat, hat, bat, etc.)

Friday
- Flash letter cards/number cards
- Count as high as you can go (at least to 20)
- Tell an adult what number comes after 4, 9, 15, etc.
- Go outside and find some leaves and sticks. Count how many you found by using your pointer finger to touch each item as you slowly count.
- Make a simple pattern with your leaves and sticks. Have an adult make a pattern for you. Identify what comes next in the pattern.
- Practice writing your name using pencil, crayon, marker (Capitalize first letter)
- Find objects around your house. Idenitfy what letter the object begins with.
- Try to sound out the word "cap" with adult help. Continue with other word (nap, rap, tap, etc.)
