WELCOME!!!
I would like to welcome you to my Jr. High ELA class! I will be teaching your child English Language Arts this year. I have planned an exciting and fun year for your child to learn and appreciate ELA. I have high expectations for my students and do not accept anything less. We will be reading many novels throughout the year and I expect my students to also continue to read other books and to participate in the Accelerated Reader Program.
Your child will be responsible for at least 3-4 reading novel assignments (on their own), one each 9 weeks. I do not give a lot of homework, but I do expect the students to study for quizzes and exams that will be given throughout the year in my class.
As a parent myself, I understand that you may need to discuss your child's progress and/or behavior. You may contact me at the school or you can email me at [email protected].
