A child who READS will be an adult who THINKS!
I'm Mrs. Tirado and this is my 18th year of teaching in the Camden City Public School District. I'm so lucky to be a part of such a wonderful group of staff members.
A Reading Interventionist is a reading specialist who provides intensive instruction to struggling readers. We have to master the art and discipline ourselves to read.
Students have been busy with their Winter iReady Testing. I'm so pleased with the great gains our students have made thus far. Keep up the GOOD work!!!!!
Round 1 of STEP Testing will begin on January 9th, 2020.
Parents you should be very proud of your child. We've been seeing growth in their comprehension and decoding skills.
Parents during Spring Break please allot time for your child to access iReady via computer, iPad, or smartphone.
Practice going over Sight Words/High Frequency Words using flash cards. Have the students read the words aloud to you. Practice for 10-15 minutes daily.
Please allow students to read aloud to you for 20 minutes a day.
Read your child a bedtime story and ask questions like, "What's happening in the story? Who was your favorite character? What was your favorite part of the book? What is the problem in the story and how was it solved? Or not? If you could change the story, What would you do differently?" These are just a few question stems that would be helpful when talking to your child about what they've read.
