 Wildcats,

Welcome to 8th Grade Social Studies! This year, 8th Grade Social Studies presents a unique opportunity for the class to explore many topics relevant to students' lives. It will also provide the opportunity for students to bring in their own knowledge and experiences.

As the facilitator for this course, I hope to bring history alive by presenting  the content in a challenging and interesting way for students.

Beginning with the Second Industrial Revolution, this course offers a chronological study of major events, issues, movements, individuals, and groups of people in the United States from a national and a Louisiana perspective. In this course, students will examine the rise of the United States as an industrial and world power, World War I, the Great Depression, Huey P. Long, The Great Flood of 1927, World War II, the Cold War, the Civil Rights movement, and the modern era.

I have high expectations for performance, behavior and attendance from every student so that everyone can get the most out of this class. Please do not hesitate to Contact Me with any questions or concerns. I look forward to hearing from you!  I will have an awesome and successful school year and I hope you are ready to as well!
