Objective Students will find a complicated way to perform a simple task.  
Directions

Watch video about Rube Goldberg and his inventions.
The task is to shut a door. 
Students will find a complcated way and use everyday objects from around the house to shut a door. 
Please email me a video of the invention is action. I look forward to seeing the creativity and innovation.

Students will create an invention using recycled materials

Objectives 

Students will design and build a tower. 

Directions 

Follow the steps of the engineering design process to build a tower.   

Resources 

Building supplies might include: index cards, paper, spaghetti, marshmallows, cups, craft sticks, pipe cleaners, straws, tape, toothpicks, playdoh, newspaper, etc.

Objective

Students will learn   the physics behind a catapult launching system.

Possible supplies at home might include: 

Craft sticks or pencils

Rubber bands

Tape

Plastic spoon or bottle lid

Small soft objects to launch 

like a pom pom or mini marshmallow

Directions

Watch the two video   links provided.  Gather resources at   home.  Construct a catapult system.   Test the system.  Report on the   results. 

 Summarize videos in 3-5 sentences.
