Frequently Asked Questions:

1.  Does my child have homework ?

Homework will be assigned throughout the week and is due on Fridays.  Refer to the weekly newsletter placed in the back sleeve of the red communication folder.  Homework should be returned in the return to school pocket of the red folder.

2.  How do I contact you?

You may contact me through email at [email protected].  A message may be left at the school office at 225-665-5371.  You may also send a note in the red communication folder as these are checked daily.  Please allow one day for responses.

3  What is your discipline plan?

      Rules:

We raise our hands to speak.

We work quietly at our seats.

We use voices soft and sweet.

We keep our places tidy and neat.

We are helpful, friendly, and fair.

We take turns and willingly share.

We will follow the school wide discipline plan using a color coded "face" system. All students will begin the day on the green happy face.  With each infraction, their clip will be moved to a descending color.   The color codes and consequences are as follows:

Green:  Great Day (Student will receive a peanut in their savings cup!)

      Bottom of Green:  Redirection

      Yellow:  Warning

      Orange:  PAWS  Time (Time Out)

      Blue: Note/Phone Call Home/Written Punishment

      Red:  Office Referral

Students will be reminded to put a "bubble in their mouth and hands behind their back" when walking in the hallway.  They will also be told to use marshmallow feet when walking from one place to another.

4.  What is the Very Hungry Helper?

This is a special privilege awarded to one student a week.  This will be earned based upon behavior, homework, work completion, and being a good citizen.  This student will be given special privileges throughout the week.
