Dear Parent,

     Please keep in mind that kindergartners are always learning and the following are suggestions to use whenever the opportunity arises. 

-Read to and with your child every day
-Point out the pictures in the books you read and talk about them have your child predict what will happen next.
-Talk about the characters and the setting in the story being read.
-Sequence the story = what happened first, in the middle and at the end of the story.
-Encourage reading throughout the day for example, read the print on signs, food boxes, newspapers, magazines etc.
-Use clay to mold numbers and letters.
-Practice number recognition(read street signs, license plates, clocks, etc.)
 

Please remember to always praise your child for his/her efforts.
