My name is Jamie Griffin and I will be teaching your child Science this year. I hope everyone had a great summer and that you are ready to get back to work. I am really looking forward to having your child in my class this year and I anticipate a great year. I believe that children learn best and benefit most when their parents and teachers work closely together. It is my goal to help your child reach his or her fullest potential as an individual and as a 4th grade student. Knowing that each family member will be working with me will help me to be successful in my goal.
A little about me....I graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in December 2000, and recieved my Master's Degree in December 2013. This will be my 22nd year in education and my 20th year in the Live Oak school district, all of which I have taught 4th grade math, science, and/or social studies. I am very thrilled and blessed to be at such an outstanding school that is so supported by a wonderufl community. I love the innocence of the age and the pure humor they bring to each day.
I live in Watson with my husband, our 2 crazy kiddos and our dog Daisy. My husband, Carl and I have been married for 24 years but we have been together for over half of my life (high school sweethearts). He recently retired from the military after 30 years and a few deployments. He now works in Support Services for the East Baton Rouge Sheriff Office. We have a 19-year-old son, Jordan and our daughter Laken who is 13.
When I am not at school, I enjoy vegging out on the couch watching TV or taking camping trips. During football season we love to attend football games whether it’s LOJH, LOHS, or LSU. We attend Live Oak Church here in Watson and volunteer with the kid's ministry and Axis 456.
I am excited about this new school year and look forward to making lots of fun memories with you and your sweet babies!
