All assignments and links for each week will be posted (and updated weekly) on your teacher’s website. To access these websites, go to www.southforkelem.org and click on the “Teacher Websites” tab. Then choose your child’s teacher.

 

Descriptions of Activities and Login information:

 

  • Discovery Ed – Go to www.discoveryeducation.com and click the blue login button. Username is their student number plus .lpsb and their password is their student number. Ex:  Login - 12345.lpsb and password – 12345

 

  • Journaling – Write at least one paragraph about something you have done this week. Remember, a paragraph is 3-5 good sentences. Don’t forget to indent, capital letters and punctuation! 

 

  • BrainPop – We have created a 2nd grade account for everyone to use. Go to www.brainpopjr.com The login is SFES2 and the password is broncos2. Some videos can be accessed without logging in. There is also an app on the iPad/iPhone.

 

  • Read Aloud – You may choose to read a book from home or click on the link on the teacher’s website.

 

  • Moby Max – Student will login to their account and complete assigned activities.

   

 

  • Art Hub – search “art hub for kids” on www.youtube.com and click on this family.

 

  • Pick 2 – Choose 2 of the following “Fun Friday” ideas!
    • Blow bubbles outside.
    • Go on a nature walk.
    • Create something out of paper
    • Put on a play/Act out a book.
    • Science experiment
    • Paint/Color/Sidewalk Chalk
    • Cook or Bake
    • Be Creative!

  • Turn on the subtitles on your TV.
  • Watch a movie and ask your child questions – Who? What? Why? When? Where?
  • www.pbskids.org
  • Give your child a daily chore list – They LOVE cleaning the classroom!
  • Educational TV channels – PBS, NatGeo, Food Network
  • Netflix has “Magic School Bus” episodes available and the “Who Was I” videos based on the book series.
