Dear Parent,
I hope my class will awaken and enrich the artist inside your child. I will promote their creativity and use an understanding of artistic development to guide them. It will help if they were relaxed, in class, and understood that Art is Play and It's Important. This might mean simply being in their presence when they break out a new set of crayons, make mud, or even rip an envelope into pieces. For the benefit of everyone, please encourage your child to "play" constructively, and safely, and to avoid judgement. Ask them to tell you about their work. They will probably have a lot to say. As your child matures, please instill appreciation for the fact that growth will occur through trial and error, and through perseverance.
