In music class, we learn to appreciate, listen to, and read music. Music is all around us for our entire lives, and students can better appreciate it through knowledge.

Lower grades: The Elements of Music. Explore their voices, express themseves musically, and learn the instruments of the orchestra visually and aurally. The also explore changes in music: fast/slow, loud/soft, mellow/bright, etc.

Middle grades: Playing the Music. learn about how to read music/rhythm notation and perform on recorder, piano, bucket drumming, and music tubes. 

Upper grades: Appreciating the Music. learn about musicals, opera, jazz, Renaissance music, the history of recorded music, and world music.
