Solar System Booklet Instructions and Suggested Timeline

 

 The Solar System project will focus on the eight planets in our solar system. Each planet will have one page. Students may use coloring pencils, embellishments, construction paper, scrapbook paper, cardstock, felt, glitter, and paint. Please use glue dots and/or glue gun, with supervision, as needed. This project is worth two grades (SC). 

  

 

Inner Planets

 

 Inner planets suggested deadline: Thursday, May 8th

 

Read information about the Inner Planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars from books, Internet sites, and/or class sources. Write notes/summary in SC journal. Design a layout and review ideas of how you'll be presenting information in a creative way.  

 

PLANET PAGE: Facts/Information read and summarized from research and presented in a creative way. Include origin of name, size, temperatures, location from the Sun, rotation, revolution, and additional information found.

Outer Planets

 

Outer Planets suggested deadline: Thursday, May 15th

 

Read information about the Outer Planets: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune from books, Internet sites, and/or class sources. Write notes/summary in SC journal. Design a layout and review ideas of how you'll be presenting information in a creative way.

Read information about the Meteors, Comets, and Asteroids from books, Internet sites, and/or class sources. Write notes/summary in SC journal. Design a layout and review ideas of how you'll be presenting information in a creative way.

MCA, Glossary and Favorite Place on Earth due: Friday, May 23rd

 

 

Booklets should be binded during the week of May 5th with yarn. Students need to do a beautiful and creative cover. (options may include the use of a photograph...ideas were discussed in class)
