Native Tribes Booklet Instructions and Suggested Timeline
The Native Tribes project will focus on the five main tribes in Florida. Two pages will be dedicated to each tribe; one for the map (left side) and one for facts (right side). Students may use coloring pencils, embellishments, construction paper, scrapbook paper, cardstock, and felt. Please use glue dots and/or glue gun, with supervision, as needed. In addition to the booklet, students will also create a diorama of one of the tribes. This project is worth three grades (SS).
Native Tribes of Florida booklet, diorama, research packets (2), yarn (15 pieces), and one Florida map were given to all students. The map needs to be either traced onto the LEFT side of tribe section or copied onto a colored paper. Map section needs to include a map legend/key depicting the area occupied by each specific tribe, and include lakes, rivers, and a compass rose.
