I. Classroom Policies

  • General -  Active participation and successful completion of assigned work is mandatory in order to receive credit for this class.  Assigned work includes but is not limited to bellringers, classwork, homework, activities, lab work, quizzes, and exams (weekly, nine-weeks, semester, and final exams.)

  • Attendance - It is the STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY  TO OBTAIN MISSED WORK. An absence does not excuse a student from the responsibility of completing assignments or tests. Any work not completed due to excused absences will result in a zero.

Verification by parent, physician, clergy, or legal document must be provided upon return to school after                an absence.   Excuses for absences must be submitted to the school within two (2) days after the student                returns to school. If excuses are not submitted the absence will be unexcused.  If the absence is                unexcused, makeup work will not be accepted. Suspension results in the student missing school and

being counted as absent as well as given failing grades for those days with no make-up work allowed.

  • Make up work -After each absence from school, it is the responsibility of the student to make arrangements to do makeup work missed during the absence with his/her teacher, following his/her return. All makeup work will be completed within five (5) school days from the day the student returns to school. The teacher who will give the makeup work will decide on the scheduling of the work on any day after the return day but within the five days. If a student misses a midterm or final exam, proper medical documentation must be submitted by the parent/guardian that verifies and documents the necessity for the absence and must be submitted within 2 days of the missed exam.

  • Bellringers -  Each student is required to answer bellringer questions at the beginning of class. The bellringer grade will contribute to the overall nine-weeks grade.

  • Classwork/Homework - Always do your best on any assignments (substitute work included) and be prepared for classwork and/or homework to be checked and/or graded for correctness and completeness.

  • Communication -

Google Classroom: Google Classroom's purpose is to facilitate paperless communication between

teachers and students and streamline educational workflow. Google Classroom lets teachers create

classes, post assignments, organize folders, and view work in real-time. Each class will have its own

code for students to join their specific classroom. Announcements and assignments will be posted here

throughout the school year for each class. Students are responsible for obtaining the correct class code

and signing up for their class on Google classroom.

Remind: Class codes for Remind are in the student's Google classroom. Students are responsible for

obtaining the correct class code and signing up for their class on Remind.

  • After-School Tutoring - Tuesday and Thursday (3:00 pm - 4:45 pm)
